The Lloydminster and District SPCA partners with various pet retailers in the City of Lloydminster and the surrounding communities, many of which host in store adoption events throughout the year. These events offer an excellent opportunity for the SPCA animals to meet their forever families.

As many of these events occur on weekends, the Lloydminster and District SPCA often requires volunteers, along with an SPCA employee, to be on site during the event. The SPCA is currently seeking volunteers who would be interested in assisting with adoption during these events.

To be certified as an Adoption Assistant, volunteers must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Complete the Volunteer Orientation
  • Complete the Dog Program and/or the Cat Program training​
  • ​Able to handle and control larger breeds
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred, but not required

All volunteers accepted to the Adoption Assistant Program will receive adoption training prior to attending an event. Once you have completed the required training, you will be notified by the Executive Director of when the next adoption event will occur.
