Admission PROcess

Admitting your pet to the Lloydminster and District SPCA is a significant decision and one that should not be taken lightly. We strongly advise that all family members are involved in the decision and that you research all options to ensure you are making a decision that is best for you and your pet. Once you have surrendered your pet to the Lloydminster and District SPCA, no information regarding the outcome of the animal will be released to the admitter, their family or friends. Before admitting your pet to the Lloydminster and District SPCA, please complete the Owner Admission Form.

The Lloydminster and District SPCA requires an appointment to surrender all animals, this helps ensure we can provide you and your pet the best service. Appointments can be made by calling 780-875-2809. Appointments are available Monday-Thursday 11-5. To help decrease appointment times please fill out the following appropriate surrender profile. Dog SurrenderProfile, Cat Surrender Profile.

At the time of admission, we require:

  • At least one piece of photo identification of yourself

  • Your pet must be either on a leash or in a carrier, before entering the building

  • All medical and vaccination records for your pet(s), including tattoo or microchip information, if applicable

  • If we are unable to trace the tattoo or microchip or it does not trace to the admitter, the Lloydminster and District SPCA will charge a 4 day non refundable boarding fee per pet, in addition to the admission fee, to allow time to confirm ownership

  • If you are surrendering on behalf of another person, you must provide a letter of consent and current contact information for the owner of the animal

  • Failure to provide this information will result in a non-refundable 4 day boarding fee charge per animal, in addition to the admission fee, charged to the admitter, to allow time for the Lloydminster and district SPCA to trace the identification
