The Lloydminster & District SPCA offers a variety of different volunteer opportunities ranging from dog walking
to assisting with our various fundraising events. We highly value our volunteers and want to ensure that they have a great experience at our shelter and with our animals. Volunteers are provided with comprehensive training to offer a rewarding program for both the volunteer and the shelter animals.
To be a volunteer, you must meet the following basic requirements:
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Some positions require volunteers to be at least 18 years old. Youth under 16 years old are welcome to assist, but must be accompanied by an adult, at least 21 years of age.
Many of our volunteer opportunities require a minimum time commitment. Commitment varies based on the program. However, most animal care programs require a minimum of one hour per month. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to give more than the minimum time requirement.
Volunteers must be able to read, follow instructions, and work independently
Volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation as well as program specific training, if necessary
